class

I was looking at the IBO's different classes, and came up with a few questions. First, what class do yall shoot? Second, some classes say "any release aid may be used" while some say " a release aid may be used" is this a distinction against back tension releases. Is there any class that allows 5 fixed pins, and no back tension releases? I know why people use back tension, do yall think it is that big of a difference? I have never shot one. Thanks for the answers

Re: class

IF I had shot any 3D last year, I would have shot Hunter class in ASA. The matching class in IBO is Male Bowhunter Release (MBR). This was the 1st year I hadn't shot a 3D. Heck I usually make 2 or 3 ASA Pro-AMS a year, but a change of priorities (and eyesight) I guess.

As for the release, It's not a distinction between back tension (BT) or not. ANY trigger release (index finger, thumb, or twisted release) can work with BT, some better than others. It's how good the archer works it, not the guy standing next to you (i.e. what works for one, may not work for the next person). How you actuate the release is up to you. As for number of pins, I don't think anyone restricts the number of pins, but check.

As for BT and target archery (3D), I highly recommend it.

Re: class

yeah I try and shoot my trigger release like a back tension. What about blazer vanes? these are kinda new, and I couldnt find any revisions made for them. Why do they restrict vane length in some classes?
