Guest danewguy
I went to the range today, temp around mid 70's, all was well. I shot my first four shots at 100 yds. all was great, good group about 3" high and all. i changed nothing. My next seven shots all are 4-5" high, good group but just two to three inches higher than my initial shots. My question is what could cause me to start shooting 2-3" higher than normal all of a sudden. i changed nothing. I swab between every shot and everything. i am shooting an Encore .50 cal with 300 grn 45/50 Dead Centers over 110 grns T7. I can shoot 1.5-2" groups all day but I am just shooting high now. Can anyone help???
Guest danewguy
Re: please help...probs at the range! Thanks for the suggestion. I checked the mounts on my scope and one of the torx screws was loose. I am guessing that this was the problem. I had another question for the Encore shooters...How does the hinge pin moving around effect the POI?
tedicast
Re: please help...probs at the range! Another fairly common problem on the encores is that the QLA on some are cut off center. When the bullet hits that last inch of the barrel, the off center cut kicks the bullet a bit affecting accurracy. I had David White cut my QLA off my Encore. It made a big difference in accuracy. While it was there, I also had him ccustomixe my Leupold scope base, from a 4 screw to a six screw. David has a room on the Bwllm T/C's forum, and he also has a lot of info in the room on that forun dedicated to Encore muzzleloaders. There is a ton of info on that sight. Its a great forum for any Encore owner.
