rutting signs

Just curious if anyone else is seeing some rutting sign. Was out tonight just taking a walk through the timber and saw some new scrapes and a couple new rubs that were not around earlier this week. also witnessed a little basket 6 point rubbing the tree. was pretty neat. To young to shoot though, I either go for a 140 plus buck or shoot a doe. Most of the time i end up shooting a doe but at least have a couple chances in a year to get a big boy.

I think there is a way to check to see how many boone and crocket bucks have been shot in an area. I just don't know how to check. Maybe the website.

Re: rutting signs

I got out Wednesday and saw a group of 4 does and fawns walking through a corn field. No bucks following, but 1/2 hour later as I set up on a fresh, real fresh scrape, 2 little 8ptrs came cruising by and reacted to my can and grunt calls.

The little guys seem to be getting interested, so I'd say the pre rut is heating up.
