plannerman
Shot my Sidekick fcr the first time today with 2, 50-50 APP sticks. First shot was normal, but after a windex swap and drying patch, the second shot was more of a "pop", with one fo the sticks flaming and tumbling 30yards from the muzzle. What the heck's the deal? Could there still have been moisture on the brech plug which cause this?? The plug has a about a 1" tunnel that I suspect held moisture (windex) and caused my problems. AJ
Re: APP Pelletized Powder Sounds like the breechplug was wet. When you reloaded, the first pellet absorbed the excessive windex and fizzled. Remember, the gun can not gargle and spit. Just dampen a patch for cleaning between shots. My budy did the same thing last weekend. After cleaning, he had a no fire. Only the primer went off. I gave him a few Federal 209A primers and on the 4th one the gun went off. The last pellet was on fire as it exited the barrel. It looked pretty cool.
ZooBear
Re: APP Pelletized Powder Sidelocks seem to work much better with loose powder.
plannerman
Re: APP Pelletized Powder Thanks for the info guys, I kind of thought that was the problem. Too bad I got frustrated and switched to pyrodex!
