iabow
Well I already filled my any sex bow tag, so I've been working on reducing the city deer herd on a special hunt. I have my treestand about 40 yds from a rural roadway. Today as I'm sitting there watching the cars go by passing time for the last hour. At 4:47pm I see a truck come to a sudden stop, I was thinking doe. So I stand up, grab the bow and hear crunch, crash crunch. I'm going alright backstraps tonight, but I see a 4 point with one antler run by and behind him a moving tree, no BIG antlers . After almost being hit by the truck he ran by 5 yds out under my tree and kept half running. I only saw him for maybe 6 seconds but could tell he was a massive 10 or 12 #200+ deer. I wouldn't be able to get my hands around the beam at the g2 let alone the base and I've got big hands. I know a guy who shot a 170 last year I seen and this deer made him look a little small. I tried to get some pictures but he was gone before I could. I'm still a little shaken up by this one, an absolutely amazeing deer. Biggest deer I've ever had under my stand and only personaly seen one bigger, a non typical. This is in a doe only management area unless your drawn for a buck tag(only24) I hope he's not poached and there for me next year.
MCH
Re: Monster Buck(no pics sorry) Now that's why you hunt right there. Didn't even draw blood, but you'll remember that hunt for the rest of your life and will probably retell it more than any successful hunt you've ever had. I'm headed out in about 30 minutes, if I can see a buck half the size as the one you described I'd be happy..
