Mirage
Does it work and how often do you do it, how loud?
Hoyt03
Re: Rattling, does it work? I think it depends on your area. I have a few areas I hunt where there are not too many bucks. If I tried to rattle here i would not see any deer just spook them up. Now places where you have alot of bucks and better competition for does rattling can be very effective
double_drop
Re: Rattling, does it work? It works for me every year. I normally rattle for about 1 to 2 min. then wait for another 20 to 30 min. and then do it again.
Guest bigbuckmiddaugh
Re: Rattling, does it work? I rattle with real horns, non of fake stuff. i've rattle in a few bucks every year. Last year i rattled in 2 shooters on state land! But, it don't work all the time. Like right now, the bucks are chasing does left and right. I haven't had a cotton picken thing come in to horns!! So, it works and it don't work! Pretty much depends apon the mood of the deer. I've seen Some won't care, some will run, some have come running in looking to whoop my butt! Tominator
Re: Rattling, does it work? Works in certain situations which include time of year, time of day, local population and ratio of deer in the area. Quiet at first, intensify if you don't get results. Definitely will spook certain deer like does, fawns and little bucks. I got the attention of 2 little bucks saturday, and spooked one off. elkhntnfool
Re: Rattling, does it work? Rattling does work really well during the rut. Not only for deer but I say this guy rattle in some really nice bull elk. I'd sure hate to carry a set of those antlers around the woods.
