Nick Posted October 31, 2005 Report Share Posted October 31, 2005 Yesterday, my mom and dad threw a small birthday party for me with the immediate family. When asked what I wanted for my birthday, I jokingly told my dad I wanted a slug gun I had been eyeing for quite some time for hunting deer in the shotgun only zones. Well yesterday, I was opening up my gifts and after finishing the last one my dad said "just a minute", and came out with a long narrow box wrapped. I knew exactly what it was but couldnt believe they actually got it for me. I told them that was way too expensive for my birthday and they said "well we get enough use out of the big screen you bought so we figured we could afford to spend a little bit more for your birthday". Well the gun is an H&R model SB1 single shot with a rifled barrel. It's got the 10 gauge barrel bored as a 12 gauge with a 3" chamber. I've heard rumor that its supposed to be the most deadly accurate slug gun on the market. I cant wait to get a scope on it and try it out on the range!! Then hopefully on a deer. The most accurate slug gun out there bar none. That includes the Tar-Hunt...Slap a scope on it and get out to the range to burn up some sabots. I shoot Win Partition Golds with success but others have reported good groups with Lightfields, Win Platinums, Rem Core-Lokt, Hornady and others...Buy different brands and have at it.
