muggs
Re: mathew vrs hoyt can't go wrong with either one. the bow that you can shoot the best, with the most comfort is the best one. Don't over look a lot of other nice bow companies either.
preacherman
Re: mathew vrs hoyt I personally shoot a hoyt, not because it is a better bow than Matthews. It just fits me better and was a little cheaper on the pocketbook.
Guest tyshe17
Re: mathew vrs hoyt well, I shoot a parker, which is very similar to a matthews. I picked it based on price, and which one felt the best. However, I like the cam and a half design and split limbs of the hoyt. In general I feel hoyts are quieter with a smoother draw, and matthews are a little faster. JMO I havent shot the switchback, but this is based on the outback and lx. both are great bow companies along with numerous other companies. I have read that studies where some of the "lower end" bows on the market are able to shoot arrows through the same hole at 40yds out of a machine. and this was with the centershot intentionally offset. I would go with whatever bow felt the best to you and fit your budget the best.
Tominator
Re: mathew vrs hoyt Both good. I shoot a Mathews, but my buddy's Hoyt is very nice too.

I agree 100% that the bow that you shoot and feel is best for you is the one you should buy, I really really like Mathews after shooting the Mathews Switchback in the local pro shop but I know Hoyt also makes a really good bow and Im figuring on a Parker Pheonix 32" for my next bow for the price and reliability of it........-tim
Chrud
Re: mathew vrs hoyt I've shot both. A Hoyt XTEC last year and a Mathews Switchback this year. Of the two, I prefer Mathews, by quite a bit.
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: mathew vrs hoyt Both are good companies, very good companies. Alot has to do with what fits your pocketbook and what fits you. Don't go broke buying a bow if you can't afford the arrows to go with it! LOL!! I shoot a Reflex, its as close to owning a Hoyt as I'll get!! LOL!!
BIG_BUCK_1
Re: mathew vrs hoyt of the 2 companies i would choose a matthews but what ever feels the best is the one you should choose
HEAVIER_THAN_STEEL
Re: mathew vrs hoyt i would say mathews just because there quieter and faster.
Ravin R10 man
Re: mathew vrs hoyt Id have to actually shoot both to decide..my bro did..and he went with mathews, as well, his better half did too!!
Nick
Re: mathew vrs hoyt Ive never shot a Hoyt. When I purchased my last bow, all the opinions and hype on the Mathews Legacy pretty much made my mind up for me. I ended up purchasing an Outback 2 winters ago when they first came out. Without a doubt, the smoothest, quietest, vibration free, accurate bow I've ever laid my hands on. One doe, a 6 point, 7 point, and 10 point later, I have no complaints. tedicast
Re: mathew vrs hoyt I shoot an Outback and I love it. Wouldn't mind having a viper-tec either. Very nice feeling bow. In all honesty, you can't go wrong with either company. Which ever feels best to you.
maytom
Re: mathew vrs hoyt Both companies put out great bows!! I just happen to be shooting a Mathew's instead of a Hoyt. Last bow was a Mathew's as well, so I decided to stick with the same brand. Could of went either way. I also was seriously thinking of trying out a BowTech, since they also put out a great product. All boils down to personal choice I guess, since they all are putting out some great archery equipement these days. Can't go wrong with either!! magnatecsteve
Re: mathew vrs hoyt Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but a dual cam bow (Cam & 1/2) will have a straighter nock travel than a single cam, therefore the new Hoyts MAY be more accurate.... I shoot a hoyt, but wouldn't mind having a Matthews as well if I had the extra cash.

struttinhoyt
Re: mathew vrs hoyt Now then again if you like the mathews switchback but need togo a little easyer on the pocket book and need the hoyt.....then there is the New HOYT Tcyron that should be coming out.......33 inches long 7 inch brace height parrallel limbs and 318 fps IBO..... which is basicly alot like the Switchback......I love my hoyt and plan on getting a tycron when they come out....... [/ QUOTE ] The Cam & 1/2 can help with nock travel, but it has to be in sync. Mathews pretty much has taken any possible nock travel issues away with the two recent cams, the HP Cam and the Cobra Cam. They are very circular, which really helps. [ QUOTE ] New HOYT Tcyron that should be coming out.......33 inches long 7 inch brace height parrallel limbs and 318 fps IBO..... which is basicly alot like the Switchback. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, a LOT like the Switchback. LOL! It's a year late in my opinion, but Hoyt really did the smart thing using the Switchback's design. As fast as that bow has sold and as great as it is, I think it was a good idea to copy the Switchback's design. It'll be a great seller and shooter for Hoyt. ZooBear
Re: mathew vrs hoyt I own 2 Hoyts and 1 Mathews. I love all 3. They are all well built bows. I would expect no less for the money they cost!

TreeWalker
Re: mathew vrs hoyt This thread is pointless......there is no real answer, but to shoot them yourselves and make the decision according to your needs....... I personally shoot Mathews, but have shot Hoyt in the past.....wouldn't mind having the Xtec to go along with my Switchback.....
