Re: mathew vrs hoyt

well, I shoot a parker, which is very similar to a matthews. I picked it based on price, and which one felt the best. However, I like the cam and a half design and split limbs of the hoyt. In general I feel hoyts are quieter with a smoother draw, and matthews are a little faster. JMO I havent shot the switchback, but this is based on the outback and lx. both are great bow companies along with numerous other companies. I have read that studies where some of the "lower end" bows on the market are able to shoot arrows through the same hole at 40yds out of a machine. and this was with the centershot intentionally offset. I would go with whatever bow felt the best to you and fit your budget the best.

"can't go wrong with either one. the bow that you can shoot the best, with the most comfort is the best one. Don't over look a lot of other nice bow companies either.

Very well said.... I agree 100% that the bow that you shoot and feel is best for you is the one you should buy, I really really like Mathews after shooting the Mathews Switchback in the local pro shop but I know Hoyt also makes a really good bow and Im figuring on a Parker Pheonix 32" for my next bow for the price and reliability of it........-tim

Re: mathew vrs hoyt

Ive never shot a Hoyt. When I purchased my last bow, all the opinions and hype on the Mathews Legacy pretty much made my mind up for me. I ended up purchasing an Outback 2 winters ago when they first came out. Without a doubt, the smoothest, quietest, vibration free, accurate bow I've ever laid my hands on. One doe, a 6 point, 7 point, and 10 point later, I have no complaints.

Re: mathew vrs hoyt

Both companies put out great bows!! I just happen to be shooting a Mathew's instead of a Hoyt.

Last bow was a Mathew's as well, so I decided to stick with the same brand. Could of went either way.

I also was seriously thinking of trying out a BowTech, since they also put out a great product. All boils down to personal choice I guess, since they all are putting out some great archery equipement these days. Can't go wrong with either!!

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but a dual cam bow (Cam & 1/2) will have a straighter nock travel than a single cam, therefore the new Hoyts MAY be more accurate.

The Cam & 1/2 can help with nock travel, but it has to be in sync. Mathews pretty much has taken any possible nock travel issues away with the two recent cams, the HP Cam and the Cobra Cam. They are very circular, which really helps.

Yeah, a LOT like the Switchback. LOL! grin.gif It's a year late in my opinion, but Hoyt really did the smart thing using the Switchback's design. As fast as that bow has sold and as great as it is, I think it was a good idea to copy the Switchback's design. It'll be a great seller and shooter for Hoyt. wink.gif
