spcfoor
Anyone have their ez hanger break? I was putting it into the tree Sat. morning and turning and the bolt that holds the two arms together broke and I had two pieces in my hand and no place to hang my bow. I ended up putting the one end in the tree but it was really hard to screw in. It was only the second time I used it.

spcfoor
Re: ez hanger I used to keep it in my lap but got tired of holding it all day. It really doesn't take that much time to pick it up
huntn4bucks
Re: ez hanger I've been using an ez-hanger ever since they came out. I've had to tighten the nut on the bolt several times but never had one break. I could see how a loose bolt would put stress on it causing it to break when it was turned though. ThethirdI
Re: ez hanger Man...I have put mine through the wringer and never had a problem. I tighten the screw just before every season but it's like the Energizer bunny...it keeps going and going and going.............................You get the point! spcfoor
Re: ez hanger The problem was it was real hard to get open so the bolt was tight.
Mirage
Re: ez hanger cant you replace the bolt? that bolt takes alot of stress when useing it like a L shape for levrage. I have had no problems with mine. perhaps it was overtorqued at the factory, maybe iot was built on a friday afternoon..lol
HarvDog
Re: ez hanger UGH! That stinks. I've never had that happen and I've installed and removed it from several trees.
NY_Bowhunter14
Re: ez hanger i have one of those really long ones, and so far im not to impressed w/ it, its so long that when i put my bow on it it creaks, no matter how far i sccrew it in... other than that its pretty nice... Chrud
Re: ez hanger Nope. The only time I've had to even tighten a bolt is when hunting from a real hardwood, like red oak and hard maple.
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: ez hanger I use the Gorilla model bow hanger and haven't had any problems. Screws in nice. I just seen the EZ Hangers at Bass Pro over the weekend for $9.99, that was a deal!! Had the little hooks for hanging stuff but I already had the Gorilla style plus the wife was with me!! LOL!! VermontHunter
Re: ez hanger Yep... Had the same problem with the one I bought... the dang thing just snapped... ,,, I ended up just getting a few of the small screw ins' and went with that... Couldn't even get the darn thing exchanged for a new one....
tedicast
Re: ez hanger I haven't had a problem with mine. It is new this year, but has been on about 20 hunts already. I had a Gorilla copy last year, and it was a piece of junk. The lag design wouldn't allow it to start in a tree without a hole already there. No prob with the Team RT hanger at all. AdvantageTimberLou
Re: ez hanger tedicast You must have got a bum one because my Gorilla screws in easily. Maybe you just got a bad lag was all!! No complaints so far with mine!
Griz
Re: ez hanger Nope, not me... I have been using one ever since they came out with them and the only problem I have ever had with mine is that the bolt has came loose... Other then that... They work great for me... Chrud
Re: ez hanger With these bolts that are breaking, are you putting them in and taking them out of a tree often? I did after every hunt with one of mine and that is the only one that had the bolt loosen up on. When I put them in and leave them, I have no issues. vagobbln
Re: ez hanger I've been using the same one for 5-6 years now. Still works fine. The little utility hooks are long gone but I never used them anyhow. I even drop mine from the tree sometimes and stick it in the ground before decending from my climber.
