RyanH
Well guys Today is the last Day I am Empolyeed by Hunzicker Brothers. I was Terminated by the Company today. As you guys know I have been with this company for a lil while. I have done all kinds of things for this company. I relocated myself FOR THE COMPANY to Ardmore Oklahoma. That took alot of my hunting time in the spring away. I then Relocated to Stillwater, Ok to work at our stillwater branch! I honestly could not tell you HOW MUCH MONEY I MADE THIS COMPANY. I DID EVERYTHING FOR THIS COMPANY. Well one day last week, I used my Company Credit card to put gas in my truck. DIDNT EVEN THINK TWICE ABOUT IT. I did not have any cash and didnt have my check card, credit card! ONLY MY COPANY card. The company has not even gotten the BILL for it. I walk into work today and gave my Boss the Receipt and a CHECK and told him the story. He said ok thanks for being honest. Ill turn it in to get it takin care of. About an hour later my bosscomes to me and says, Ryan I think this is a BIG deal and John Hunzicker (part owner) is on his way to see you. I was LIKE ARE YOU SERIOUS????????? He said yes. Well i dont want to drag you on but you get the point. Im jobless. I was projected to make $81k this year. Not my salary is $0. Please just say a prayer for me. Sometimes its better to not even tell the truth! They would have never even known if I wasnt trying to be honest. Ole well I KNOW I DID RIGHT (I CAN LIVE WITH THAT). And they are making a mistake. Grant-KS
Re: Guys, Please work your magic! OUCH!!! Sorry to hear about the crappy deal. At least you know that you did the right thing, and it wasn't really your fault. You stole from nobody, and somebody still decided to screw you for it. I'll be praying that you find another good job soon!

Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Guys, Please work your magic! Yeah, pack it up and move on. I would be sure and mention the EXACT circumstances on every future interview without being asked. That way, it won't come across as you trying to hide anything if they contact your previous employer. BTW - I did the same thing about a year ago by mistake. My personal debit card and the company's card looked almost identical and I pulled out the wrong one by accident. I caught it and reported it just like you did. Fortunately, those folks had enough sense to let it go without saying a word to me.

I just don't agree with that drastic decision on their part... You came clean and took responsibility for using it so I am surprised they took such action... their loss!!! tedicast
Re: Guys, Please work your magic! Dude...That is so wrong. I feel for you man. How many people would have just not said anything. It sucks to have your honesty come back and bite you. Just means there is something better out there for you. Good Luck!

buckee
Re: Guys, Please work your magic! What you have or have not done for the company in the past has nothing to do with this Ryan. Everyone knows that using a company credit card for your own perposes is a no-no, but the fact that you came forward right away to make it right should mean something. If it was me, I'd be making an appointment to see the owner of the company to have a long chat with him. They should reinstate you. I imagine the reason they got rid of you even though you came forward, was because they figured the only reason you came forward was because you figured you'd get caught eventually and were trying to cover all the bases. That's how some higher ups think man. They couldn't see honesty if it smacked them in the face. You know what they say man "a thief thinks everyone is a thief". (but don't say that to the owner if you want your job back)

Nut
Re: Guys, Please work your magic! Ryan, it sounds like the guy was just chomping at the bit to have a reason to terminate your employment. It would have been for any reason sooner or later. So now just think of the new adventures that await you. Life always moves in ways we can't explain. Keep the head up and search for the next opportunity. Next job.....tell em to keep the company credit card.
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Guys, Please work your magic! Nut, I was thinking the same way, maybe the company was looking to downsize their employees and Ryan's misfortune with the credit card was a perfect excuse to avoid possible litigation from a lame excuse for firing. This way using a company credit card for a personal vehicle gives the employer more clout. Sad way of doing business though. Hope you find a better job Ryan with better bosses!! wtnhunt
Re: Guys, Please work your magic! Sorry to hear that Ryan. Got to agree with some of the others, think there has to be a better reason than that for them letting you go. Good luck finding another job. Newarcher
Re: Guys, Please work your magic! Sorry Ryan.....it's not the end of the world. Happened to me in '02 and it was the first time. I thought that hard work, honestly, and letting your workproduct tell all would generate a career that would never end. I was wrong and it shook my foundation. But now I can honestly say that I am better off for it and happier so it all works out for the good. If they have a competitor in the area interview with them and try to get on with them. Then divulge all the other company's plans and secrets that you know or special ways of doing things. As for future jobs, I would tell them exactly what you did and what happened....sounds like they were looking to get rid of people and found a reason in what you did. Your honesty will be rewarded in kind. Enjoy your temporary freedom. New
Tominator
Re: Guys, Please work your magic! I think I'd be inclined to try and talk it over with the owner too. It's worth a shot. If not, good luck and I hope you find something quick. Sending prayers your way bud. Hang in there.
