RyanH Posted November 2, 2005 Report Share Posted November 2, 2005 I got a phone call from my best friend. He told me that Cory Had shot a NICE buck! I was like No kiddin? He said yea. He said that he was sitting at home in the living room at 3:30 am and his sister comes running in the house saying I almost hit a HUGE deer in the drive way. Well He gets the gun goes out side and shoots it. MAKES ME SICK. Plus he is getting it mounted. Thats what I would call the WALL OF SHAME. He is a friend but not a real good friend. I would turn him in but there is nothing they can do cause they did not see it happen. Here he is. he weighed 210 pounds! THATS A HUGE OKIE DEER! - Edited per RyanH's request. Look at it this way, that buck got that big for one reason, he roamed through out the night and morning and did his thing. He checked scrapes and maybe rubbed his horns, he did what deer do at night when no one is around because they feel safe!! This guy is a moron and getting up because his sister says there was a big buck in the driveway gave him no right to go out and shoot him. How did he see him, blind him with a spotlight? I would call the DNR, the DNR can probably get him to confess. Its losers like this that ruin hunting for us. That is sad. I feel sorry for that buck, he thought he was safe and when daylight would approach he would probably slip into the thickets and hide out for protections, instead some loser kills him and now plans to stick his head up on his wall. I could have easily shot a 160" 10pt once. He was illuminated by a full moon, and was totally oblivious to me 10 yards away as he was making a scrape. My house sits right on the travel path for the local herd of urban whitetails and we see them frequently in my little back yard late at night or early morning...but I see that as an oportunity to observe NOT shoot!!!!!!! Almsot every night I have deer in my yard, including a huge non-typical with at least 16 points that I could count.
