Shaun_300
What is considered a big deer in your area? Here in Ontario, a buck averages 190+, does usually over 140lbs. My 6 pointer last year was 202lbs dressed. The biggest buck i've ever seen personally is 270lbs dressed, which was shot by my uncle. He has also taken a doe that was 195lbs. How about your area? huntrman
Re: What\'s a big deer in your area... weight wise? Just talked to a guy at Dicks Sporting Goods tonight regarding a picture of a buck on the wall. Killed not too long ago near Crawfordsville. Field dressed out at 230. That is what I call a brute. Can't say its uncommon though with all the corn and such around. Makes dragging fun!
Ravin R10 man
Re: What\'s a big deer in your area... weight wise? here in Northern Wis. a 225 would be about as good as you are going to see..however there have been a few that topped

SaskMan
Re: What\'s a big deer in your area... weight wise? Alberta and Manitoba have some big bodied deer too, all 3 provinces hold 300lb bucks. I've seen pics of 2 or 3 deer in the back of a truck before from other places and wonder how they can fit. The deer i shot this year filled my truck box, I'll have to try get a pic from superguide, he took one. I've seen many deer that were simply put...huge! Mach1
Re: What\'s a big deer in your area... weight wise? I shot a deer 4 yrs ago that field dressed 247 lbs. The deer I shot last year was a hog too but we didn't weigh him. I wouldn't have been surprised to see him go 225+ field dressed.

buckee
Re: What\'s a big deer in your area... weight wise? Hanging weight at the butcher's (head, hide and legs off), if you get one over 100 lbs, you've got a great deer.
wtnhunt
Re: What\'s a big deer in your area... weight wise? Live weight a deer over 200 lbs is a monster body size deer for this area. Average on an average buck probably around 135-140.
Tsmola
Re: What\'s a big deer in your area... weight wise? around here, a mature buck usually weighs around 175-200 live weight.
Tominator
Re: What\'s a big deer in your area... weight wise? "Big" is pretty subjective. Over 200 on the hoof is pretty big. Over 180 or 190 dressed is better than average.
Guest NS_HUNTER
Re: What\'s a big deer in your area... weight wise? Here in Nova Scotia there was a buck shot in 1927 that each quarter was over 100lbs.The biggest I've seen was my fathers buck that dressed 302lbs with 7 points and was 71/2 years old. vagobbln
Re: What\'s a big deer in your area... weight wise? Here in southern VA I'd say the average buck probably goes 150-170 pounds. Biggest I ever killed went 196. Think it was 596 by the time I got him to the truck! Funny how they do that. I always get a kick out of some of the weights that are given at check stations (without a scale of course). Man, can some of these boys "big eye" 'em. Jeramie
Re: What\'s a big deer in your area... weight wise? Field dressed, anything 140lbs and over is NICE. The does I usually take for a ride in the back of my truck average 100lbs.

bfletch7441
Re: What\'s a big deer in your area... weight wise?
