Hey guys,

Just got in from the Big Sky country of Montana. The hunt went well, shot a nice 4x4 (8pt) whitetail. Saw alot of deer, antelope and then later inthe week I snuck up on a brute 5x5 , unfortunately NoTag!!!!!!!!! Got some cool pics though. As for the whitetail hunt . The landowner was showing me another ranch that he owned on the 3rd morning . As luck would have it this buck was bedded in the middle of a wheat stubble field , with nothing taller than 10 inches around. So I went about a mile away and bellied crawled over a high spot in the field and there he was still bedded at about 300 yrds. No way to get closer so I thought take my time on the shot (by the way I practice out to 300 yrds with my 300 win mag , so it wasnt a hail mary. And I rolled up my coat for a little rest and ol crack shot here just plain missed him. lol lol ! After I sucked some air back in and got my thoghts back I dropped him in his tracks with the second shot. Now for a quick run down he had great G2's ( 9 plus inches ) and G3 's were 8 plus. G1's were about 3-4 inches. A real nice buck for a do it yourself hunt the Montana. Now when I get the pics ready I 'll have my main man Tominator post them. Illinois , Kansas yet to go , Cant wait!!!!!

Hey bamabill,

No it was on private land . The going rate is 100-125 aday depending on if you have riverbottom or not. The river bottoms are definitly worth it , especially if they irragate the hay. I saw 75 -80 deer one nite in a 100 acre piece. Whitetails, mulies, antelope awesome to see!!!

if your ever interested I can show you how to find land ok
