RangerClay
My friend is getting a scope for his ML. It's a T/C Black Diamond. He was curious if he should get a shotgun or rifle scope for his gun. What do you suggest? Ranger

I would also suggest a Leupold VX-1 2 to 7 power scope with Heavy Duplex.

AJ
Re: Muzzleoader scopes Either one will work. I prefer rifle scopes. I have my ML guns topped with various different rifle scopes from Burris Fullfield II 3-9x40 with Ballistic Plex, Redfield tracker 4-16x44 with duplex, and a Nikon Titanium Monarch 5.5-16x44 duplex. I have shot deer from 10 yards to 150 and not had a problem. I would look at scopes with decent eye relief. I would want at least 3" of eye relief. One other thing I would lean towards is a good one piece tube. Some ML guns spit a lot of gunk out the breeck and coat the bottom of the scope with corrosive acidic residue. Most good scopes today are using a one piece tube.
beagleboy
Re: Muzzleoader scopes I also have a T/C Black Diamond and I put a shotgun/muzzleloader scope on it. Riflescopes have a parallax of 100yds where the shotgun scopes have a 50 yds parallax. This helps you put your scope on your deer quicker on closer shots. Tsmola
Re: Muzzleoader scopes I've got a Nikon Prostaff made for shotguns on my Omega, and I love it so far. My ml actually slipped and fell off my tailgate yesterday, however my next shot was touching the last one. It looks like they can really take a beating.
