huntinsonovagun
I went in to Atwoods to buy a couple pintail singles decoys. I come out with a tree stand instead.... It is a Hunter's View Bobcat, reg. $53, but all stands were 20% off. I couldn't pass it up for ~$40, with a full body harness. Not sure how good it will be, but I'll find out! Man...I HAVE to quit spending money!!!!!

huntrman
Re: New Stand.... LOL I have been having that problem a lot lately. From a new bow this year with all the expensive goodies on it, to a new coat, to a new shotgun, and 2 new blinds. Wow it just hit me...hunting = expensive. Why is it that I must do the most expensive things? Computers, hunting, golf, etc. I know how you feel now. I bet you will like the stand. I have a hunters view stand that is similar to that. Only thing I would recommend is to use ratchet straps only, instead of that chain. I had an incident a few years back where a s hook broke off of the stand where the chain hooked on to. Sent me tumbling from 20 feet.(forgot the harness at home, dumb I know) Now I only use ratchet straps*. About 3 of them on my stand to be exact and never get in it without a harness on. Hope you like the stand and good luck.
paul23
Re: New Stand.... Same here, went into my neighbors gun shop and came home with a ultimag and a Rem LV SF in 7mm-08 earlier in the week. Then of course the leupold on top and all the shells. snapper
Re: New Stand.... I agree with huntrman...get rid of that chain and use a nice wide rachet strap and your good to go! I see it has a strap for the bottom...but I'd also use one on the top.
maytom
Re: New Stand.... Congrats on the new stand, great price!! First thing I'd do is buy yourself a container of "plasti-dip" in the Black color from value home center. Thin it out with paint thinner and then remove that chain from your stand and dip it into a coffee can of that thinned out Plasti-dip. It will put a rubber like covering all over your chain. After the first dunking, hang the chain onto a nail and slowing lower the can, letting the weight of the chain suspend from the nail. Let the chain dry. Then get another coffee can and place it on the floor under the chain, while using the one with the thinned out plasti-dip to pour it onto the chain from the top and let it run down the entire chain. The excess liquid will drip into the coffee can on the floor. You will need about three coats. Let it completey air dry then bolt the chain back onto your stand. You'll be amazed at how much that cuts the noise down!!
Jeramie
Re: New Stand.... I have that same stand. Ive had it out in the weather for years. It wouldnt bother me a bit to sit in it tonight. They are very decent stands for the money!
Tominator
Re: New Stand.... I've had a couple of those stolen. They worked fine, until they were stolen.
Illinoisbowhunter
Re: New Stand.... I purchased two Hunter's View Razorbacks this year along with their climbing sticks. The new Razorback is very similar to that bobcat but the platform is bigger and does include the Ratchet straps. I did check out the bobcat but I was really wanting a bigger size platform then that. So far, both my sets have been great setups for the $$ and would recommend them to anyone. The first thing I would do as the others are saying, replace that chain with a ratchet strap.
