waterfowler_gal
Learned a valuable lesson late last night.... Had a rough day... so thought I would take out some stress and shoot my bow... well it was chilly and blah blah didn't want to go outside.... so I set up in my livingroom down through my hall where I placed my target.... easily about 30 yards... about 15 shots later... My roommate was watching me upstairs and I didn't hear her start to come down the stairs... she said my name and it scared the heck out of me just as I was releasing and the arrow went into the wall in the livingroom I never laughed so hard in my life.... Way to go!!! Lesson learned--take it outside... we all can't have an indoor archery lane in our house like Cabela's.... darn it

MadHuntinPastor
Re: Don\'t practice in the house Glad to hear nobody was hurt!! I would never do that....... Only cuz I have to shoot out my basement door for a 15 yard shot into my townhouse's backyard
ksdeerhunter03
Re: Don\'t practice in the house I shoot all the time inside, but I live alone, and I know there is a 4'X4' block on that end of the house!
Bow Hunter Derek
Re: Don\'t practice in the house I shoot out in my pole barn, but not in the house. That's crazy stuff right there. Hope you know someone who can fix drywall.

VtBowhunter
Re: Don\'t practice in the house I don't see anything funny about that at all. you never know what can happen or what that arrow could have bounced off of........that was a pretty dangerous thing to do with others in the house. unioncountyslayer
Re: Don\'t practice in the house It's ok to shoot inside if no one else is home. However you need to be aware of your surroundings. About 2 months ago a guy was shooting his bow OUTSIDE, but was unaware that his grandfather was sitting on the porch at the house directly behind him. Long story short, he missed the target and the bow hit his grandfather and killed him. Tradgic story, so be careful.

Hoyt03
Re: Don\'t practice in the house have a 10 yard range upstairs in my house just for a little practice. Always block off the walk way when shooting and make sure I'm usually the only one home. Thank god I never missed, I havent done it in awhile I think i'm gonna strictly shoot outside after reading this
PAbowhunter86
Re: Don\'t practice in the house I have heard of people shooting in barns and some down stairs but it the upstairs and the main floor. I dont know maybe its just me but cant the arrow go through the drywall into another room or something?

hutchies
Re: Don\'t practice in the house I might be able to pull off a 20 yard shot in my house if I am lucky. Although it would involve me standing in my shower and shooting thru the doorway, my bedroom, down the hallway, thru the living room into the kitchen. LOL, Thanks but I will stick to shooting outside. I would cry if i shot a hole in my drywall I have been working on for the past month of weekends. waterfowler_gal
Re: Don\'t practice in the house Sorry some of you didn't find a giggle out of this. I am not trying to advertise I am not safe either. It happened and I am grateful no one got hurt of course. It was just one of those really weird random instances that I thought I would share. [ QUOTE ] you must live in a mansion.......easily a 30 yd. shot [/ QUOTE ] Sorry all of us can't afford a mansion like you SRA.... Didn't you say you have a 10 lane indoor archery set up in your house
