drkillemquick
Does anyone know the projected time of the rut in Ontario this year. I have some deer sightings here but there doesn't seem to be nearly as much activity as in other years at this time. I know the rut is triggered by the decreasing amout of daylight but the warmer weather in October does seem to be having an effect. Have you been seeing alot of activity in your neck of the woods? fisherguy
Re: RUT IN ONTARIO? Scraping activity in the northwest is near peak, and peak rut should be just under two weeks from now. Bucks are travelling a abit more, but still not crusing at all hours like they do in the rut.
Shaun_300
Re: RUT IN ONTARIO? It's about the same here in the Ottawa area as fisherguy said, it's not peak rut yet, but the bucks are starting to get more active. Lots of scraping, they'll really be wound up in the next couple weeks.
Muff
Re: RUT IN ONTARIO? I have only seen a few small bucks chasing does...no big ones yet....also I have seen very few scrapes....I think we need a cold snap to kick start the rut around here.
