AJ
I have several wildcats. I have a 22K-Hornet, .223 AI, 6mm-06 AI, and a .338/284. I have been thinking about doing a 6.5 STW for a few years now. Until its done as a factory cartridge, I would like a .338 WSM. I hope Winchester makes one soon. While wildcats are fun to play with, I really don't have the time necessary to find out whats best. They are a bit of a waste of $ also. Having a gun done in a wildcat automatically drops the value of the gun for resale. This board is generally about hunting with some beginner to intermediate level of firearms/reloading knowledge. Wildcatting, is advanced intermediate to expert level. There are some good websites that deal with wildcatting and reloading.
David_218
Re: How many? I also have, and owned, a few "Wildcat" chambered rifles over the years. (1) .458 X 2" American built on a Rem. M-722 Action (2) A .17 Ackley Bee built on a Martini Action. (3) .25 Souper on a Mauser action. (4) .257 Roberts IMP. On a Remington 722 Action. (5) 6.5 X 257 Roberts on a Mauser Action. (6) .17-223 rifle which was a H & R Ultra Wildcat. (7) .22 K-Hornet built on a Winchester M-70 Hornet action. All were very good shooting rifles and interesting.
