Re: Rabbits

Oh yeah. I usually hold off on hunting them until late in the season though, like late January into February.

I like hunting them when there's a little snow on the ground as I don't have a dog. I just walk around and look for "cocoa puffs" and tracks, then just walk their trails and kick the brambles. I have 3 or 4 good brush piles I've made out back that really attract them, I also grow grain crops for them too, like corn, sorghum and soy beans. I shot 5 or 6 of them out of my little 3 acre field last year.

Re: Rabbits

I used to rabbit hunt but don't have much opportunity anymore. I had 2 of the best beagles to ever run rabbits. We would usually wait until Jan then hunt through feb. There was a big group of us with about 30 dogs total. Sometimes we'd turn them all out in a huge cutover and there would be 6-8 chases going on at a time, it was a blast...

Re: Rabbits

I don't specifically hunt for rabbits, there isn't too many around here anymore, but If I see one out while bird hunting I'll take him. wink.gif
