Well..........I finally made it back home and have good news to report that I killed a nice little 125 pound 4 point. I got in the stand yesterday morning a little after 5 a.m. and sat quietly waiting for the morning to take the darkness away. A little after 6 a.m. I woke up blush.gifgrin.gif to a flock of turkeys flying in about 10 yards to my right. I almost jumped straight out of the stand. They fed around for about 30 minutes and then left out. I sat there for about another hour and began to get a little discouraged thinking that I wasn't going to see anything and dreading the drive home. I began to think about the trip and where I was going to gas up and then something in my head said, "look to your right" and when I did at 40 yards stood a big old doe! She stayed at about 40 yards for a few minutes and then began to make her way to my right. I stood up and readied myself for the shot and she got in a little thick place about 15 yards away that presented no shot, turned and walked up a hill very calmly. I sat back down and low and behold 15 minutes later this four point walked out. He stayed milling around and feeding for about 15 minutes. I really didn't want to shoot him; but I was really wanting some meat for the freezer. So I finally called my buddy on the radio and got the green light, since it was on his land. At 16 yards, I drew back and let her fly. He went about 50 yards and piled up there. I was very excited, since this was my first deer in 2 years with a bow........and my first bow kill with my Hoyt! I will try to post pics as soon as I can. Have to resize them. But when I get them resized I will post them!
