Man, I actually made it through the whole summer without it this year!!!....only to get it yesterday while hanging a stand. frown.gif

I need something that works well....I'm also thinking about going to the campus nurse/doctor and see if I can get a shot that's cheap. It ain't bad yet, but it will be before long, especially since it's on my neck, and a little on my face.... frown.gif

What's the best stuff??......

Ryan, there is a product called ZANFEL, it's pricey, but is supposed to get rid of the stuff in just a few days. Hot water will take care of the itch for a little while. To bad it isn't summer time, chlorine will help dry it up also. Next year see if you can find a PIOSON IVY EXTRACT, I take it EVERY year, you will still break out, but it ain't nearly as bad.

I also wipe my wife down with rubbing alchohol when she gets it. Dont bust the blisters but it will help to dry it out.

So are you offering to come put some on me? grin.gifgrin.gif

Alisha- Not that difficult. Leaves fall in your shirt, etc. Pulling down vines, you never know where you might get it. Plus, that is exposed skin. I usually don't hang stands in the nude....

Clorox bleach. And a shot of prednisone from the doctor. Only thing that works for me. And even THAT isn't a miracle cure. crazy.gif

Need to try to use IVY Block BEFORE you go in the woods. wink.gif

there is a bar soap called Fels-Naptha that helps to dry out the rash and limit the itching. It can be hard to find though. It is marketed as a laundry soap by the Dial company. I use it whenever I get poison anything and it helps tame the itch and shorten how long it sticks arround.

If I were you I'd get the Zanfel!!!!!

It's worth the money. My son got poison ivy when we went down to Griz's in Sept., his face was swelling when we left. I got him some Zanfel when we got home and it was dried up and gone in 2-3 days.

My son and I are highly allergic and get it every year. In my opinion this stuff works better than the shot at the doctor!!!!!!

LittleNut and the wife got it pretty good one time while we were living in the camper this summer. She used everythingmentioned and bleach. It did not go away until I moved the camper to a different spot.

Since TurkeyEye can roll in it without it affecting us I did not pay attention to where the vines were. LOL Guess where the wife was hanging our clothes to dry. shocked.gif

Guess you know where not to hang a stand next time? grin.gif
