clayman
Re: Wanted Ted or alive I was looking forward to it, but Dish Network pulled the plug on OLN a few weeks ago. No way I can see it now without having a buddy on a different system tape it for me.

[/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] , a great advocate for our sport, [/ QUOTE ] Yep, Ted Nugent is a wonderful posterboy for the pro-hunting movement. I can't say what I think about him on here because it will get edited and Buckee will be mad at me again and I like to keep him sedated. Newarcher
Re: Wanted Ted or alive Seemed kind of childish to me....all I saw was him running around and shooting people with paintballs from a golf cart. I ended it after that. I would much rather see Michael Waddell or even Ted do an in depth series on hunting ethics, bow tuning, bowhunting priciples and safety, shot selection, tracking (actually show the blood rather than a hunter pointing to the ground and saying bluuuud bluuuud), and meat processing. That would be much more educational. If Realtree was smart, they would spin off a series with David Blanton (who, in fact, might be better suited for a teaching role) called "Realtree University or something like that. Make it a 5 DVD series and charge a pretty penny for it, I think. New

brain
Re: Wanted Ted or alive i agree with johnf it isnt a hunting show its a reality show. in a silly kind of way it is teaching the people how to get along in the outdoors not in the mall.i really like ted he is a great speaker on hunting and the right to bear arms.it takes all kinds of people to spread our hunting message and im thankful to have a ted out there. JimT
Re: Wanted Ted or alive Yes..it is a reality show not a hunting show. I like Ted. He is always consistant in how he is. Ted is Ted, and I enjoy watching him.

New [/ QUOTE ] qI` think` you've` missed` the` point` of` the` show.` ` [/ QUOTE ] Well, I admit that I started in the middle and didn't finish it.....so I don't know what the point of it is supposed to be. It looked pretty weak, poorly scripted, and much like a high school...no middle school play production. Amateruish. I know it isn't supposed to be a hunting show but I would rather see a hunting show in its spot. I must admit that I consider most of Ted's 'hunting' shows to be pretty weak in and of themselves. More like shooting to me. New
Adjam5
Re: Wanted Ted or alive Uncle Ted rocks... Ted is like Tred Barta...you either love 'em or hate 'em. No inbetween. There has been NO bigger supporter for the hunting or shooting sports than this man. He is good for the sport. Some of things he may do could be viewed as childish, but his show is for entertainment, not gospel. Rock on Ted!

More like shooting to me. New [/ QUOTE ] Your quote is a perfect example of what is meant by hunters "eating their own." The end result of hunting is killing (and eating). Pure and simple. Nugent stresses that fact. Other shows take a more "sensitive" approach to it. Granted, Ted's shows don't spend a lot of time focusing on stalking, stand locations, calling, etc. And it's not easy to squeeze all the details of a day long hunt into 20 minutes of broadcast tape. But, just how many "hunting" shows have you watched where the host of the show goes home empty handed? They are ALL about the kill. That's why we do it, and that's why they do it. And, quite frankly, if Tred, or Ted, or Michael, or any other host only broadcast episodes of walking through the woods and going home skunked - who would watch it??? Might as well change the station and watch some artist paint "happy little trees." If a "hunter" is opposed to meat-gathering, they should leave the weapon at home and hunt with a camera. Unfortunately our euphorian friends, with the help of Walt Disney, have forced "hunters" to dance around the sensitivity of those who don't. I do enjoy just being outside and getting away from the daily grind as much as the next guy. But when I go "hunting" there is only one "end" that I am seeking, and that is the death of an animal that I intend to injest. Call it "hunting" or "shooting" or "meat-gathering". Question the means to the end if you will, but the end is still the same. Now please pass the gravy.

MUDRUNNER
Re: Wanted Ted or alive I like the show.To me it's funny to see how these people respond when they are not in their own environment.I also like to see how some of the contestants may change their point of view on the outdoors. If you like him or not,you have to admit the man has a passion for the outdoors and for getting kids involved in outdoor activities. This kind of show is "politacally incorrect"to a lot of people and is not for everybody, but I like it. Nut
Re: Wanted Ted or alive Still do not understand how it can be wrong to dislike the show or have a opinion. Truthfully I hope I never become like that. I will not watch any "hunting" show that Nuge has anymore. I will never hunt deer inside highfence operations but if it floats some others boat.So be it,just not for me.
