Tracking a hit deer. Need help asap

I need some feedback quick. Just before dark today I shot a doe with my bow. I've shot deer before with my bow but this situation has me stumped.

I hit the doe, she did the typical high rear leg kick and took off like a bat out of ****. Thinking I made a great shot I gave it a half hour and went over to retrieve my arrow. At the place where she stood there was a ton of hair but No blood. I found my arrow just past where she stood sticking into the ground. There was Not a speck of blood on the arrow just a small chunk of white meat (fat). By now it is pitch dark and all I have is a small flashlight. I find where she had run and found more hair about 30 yds from where she was hit. Still No blood.

I've pretty much convinced myself that this was just a nick. But why did she act like she was hit hard. What do you think? Have you ever hit a deer with a pass through shot and not find blood on the arrow? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
