vagobbln
As I posted last week, while looking for a ML for my brother ("yeah, right" my wife says), I ran across a deal on the .45 cal Knight Disc Elite at Bass Pro ($249 w/ ss barrel). Well, I couldn't stand it and bought one for myself. Question for those of you who shoot .45's. What loads are you guys having success with? Just looking for a starting point before I do some bench work. Thanks.
AJ
Re: .45 cal loads? My first one arrived just a few minutes ago. I orderd some Precision Rifle 175 gr Dead Centers to try in it. I am going to try to stoke this thing up some and make it a long range ML. I will give the T-7 another try. If it does not prove successful, I will go back to Pyrodex. I've got some friends (reliable) who took two deer in the 175 range last year. Both with .45 cal. Who has a good selection of .45 cal bullets? [/ QUOTE ] I have nothing but good to say about Precision Rifle stuff. In fact the little brown toy truck (UPS) dropped off a box of goodies today from PR. At the modest velocities of Pyrodex and Triple 7 they are outstanding on game and accuracy. My long range ML is the Savage. Its my true 250 yard shooter. Of course its using smokeless powder and VA made smokeless illegal in early ML season. Its supposed to be legal again next year though. I will still be able to use it in general season this year.
