Newarcher
Re: I fell out of my climber...... I had that almost happen to me....I try to get the foot platform as close to the ground as possible so I don't have to reach. When getting out, you can't really still be tied in or else you will probably get more banged up on the stand than anything else. Glad you weren't hurt more. Alisha
Re: I fell out of my climber...... My dad says I'm a sissy for not wanting to try a climber.... but this right here is one of the many reasons why I don't want to try one. Scott - please try to actually kill a deer for our team before you kill yourself with that climber. LOL!!

Tominator
Re: I fell out of my climber...... I hate that last step too. When possible, I shift around to the up hill side so that the last step isn't so big. I always equate that last step to a plane landing on a carrier--"controlled crash." hutchies
Re: I fell out of my climber...... It would not have help in that instance to have it on. I think it would have just swung you around head first into the tree. We all know you don't need anymore damage to your brain. LOL j/k Glad you are OK. My neighor fell twice last year from above 10 feet both times. First time landed flat of his back. 2nd time fell backwards and landed on his neck. If your safe, the climber is safe. I don't think you should be scared to use a climber nor have any reasons not too as far as safety issues go. That's all I ever use and I have never had a climber fall or do whatever his did to him. I think it has alot to do with the user But hey SRA, glad to hear your up and about. Do you have a harness yet
Newarcher
Re: I fell out of my climber...... I don't like heights and I won't use anything BUT a climber. I have faith that it will stay on the tree and as long as I can hold on to it, I am fine. I don't see how hunters can sit on a fixed stand without getting vertigo and falling off. Plus, where are the arm rests on that thing? I gotta have my rail! New

puffy
Re: I fell out of my climber...... I have never used one but it sounds like an experience I would like to avoid. I'll stick to my ladder and hang on stands. Climbers wouldn't work well in anything but poplar trees up here. Glad your O.K.!
Guest Andrea
Re: I fell out of my climber...... OK................got a question....does your climber have a blade or teeth that dig into the tree??? Or is it the kind that has a chain or band that just wraps around the tree?? deerslayer2295
Re: I fell out of my climber...... I fell from a stand that I was building once. I had finished putting it in the tree, and was going to camo it. I was carrying my materials up my steps, and had made to my platform, was sitting the stuff down and my hands slipped from the steps and I fell about 20 to 25 feet. when I hit the ground, I went into a roll to lessen the shock on my legs. That helped some but unfortunately I still jammed up some because I layed on the ground for an hour, numb from the waist down. I finally got feeling back into my legs, and it felt like someone was stabbing me with needles. I made it home, and later that night at around 4:00 am I woke up out of a dead sleep sicker than a dog. I went to the hospital and found out that I somehow had hit so hard that I had kidney stones and passed two later that day. Ouch! No matter what kind of a stand you are in, always wear your safety belt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
