double_H
I ordered a new bow last year and really like it. It came with high letoff cams and I have always shot low letoff. I would like some opinions on how letoff affects accuracy. I know, don't fix it unless its broke, but my bow fells a little dead at full draw and i was wondering if holding more weight might help accuracy. dogdoc
Re: letoff question i believe lower let off bows are more forgiving which may lead to improved accuracy---i have 2 bows one is a 75% let off and the other 65%. Accuracy is the same for me. But I think if you get stuck holding the bow back for an extended amount of time waiting for the perfect shot then the higher let off may be a little more accurate---due to less human error! todd
Jeramie
Re: letoff question I have an 87% let-off bow. At first it killed me because I switched from an Oneida Eagle. After about 6-months I learned to love it. Some of the pressure on the string helps to steady a shot but once you learn to shoot the higher let-off bows you'll really love it. Especially in hunting situations. I held, full draw, on a buck for several-several minutes Friday and never got shaky in the slightest. That really pays off. Granted I know the added pressure from the string helps but I really have no desire to go back to anything under 70%. Im a pretty good shot with my bow and being able to hold at full draw for long periods of time really makes it worth while.
