stick
This probably sounds stupid, but I have a browning a-bolt 7mm with the boss system. my question is does the boss take away bullet velocity, Right now i am shooting 1/2in group at 100yds and two inches high. I know what the balistics charts say but will it be the same
AJ
Re: boss system Yes the muzzlebrake version of the BOSS will have lower velocity compared to a rifle with an equal length barrel without the BOSS. How much of a loss depends on the cartridge. You need to shoot oer a chronograph to find out what your speed actually is. Never just go by what a chart or website says. This is definately so when you want to shoot long distances. Always verify on paper. The charts will get you close, but always verify. Guest Xen
Re: boss system well, not much to say about velocity, but... the 7mm bar that i shoot has the boss muzzle brake on it, and man oh man, that thing is cool. the muzzle brake was actually put on after we rolled a blazer down a mountain and the gun was thrown out the window. from comparing the gun before the boss was put on to after, i really didn't notice any difference in shooting it. the coolest thing about it, is shooting early in the morning - the flames coming out of the muzzle brake are awesome - seems kind of silly that that is the best thing i can come up with to plug the boss tho ooh, pretty fire
