Swamphunter
Today while packing to leave for my hunting trip, I was loading my 4 wheeler into the back of my truck. I was using the bi-fold metal loading ramps, and they were secured to the truck with straps. As I was walking the 4 wheeler up the ramps into the truck, it started to roll back out a bit so when I gave it a bit more gas, the ramps were able to give just enough to fall to the ground. My 4 wheeler then followed it there, eventually ending up on the handlebars and seat. The only good part about the whole thing is no one saw it happen but me.. . Took it for an estimate and it came to $742.00 I have insurance and only a $250.00 deductable. I have never made a claim so my agent said "no problem, get it fixed". I just feel pretty crappy about the whole thing. No cosmetic damage luckily. Racks are fine, fenders are fine, motor fine, just needs brake and throttle cables, handle bars, master cylinder, speedometer, muffler, plastic housing for the speedo, instrument cluster, brake assembly and 5 hrs labor at $52.00 an hour! I am an idiot.

buckee
Re: Ever do this?? [ QUOTE ] I am an idiot [/ QUOTE ] NO...I am an idiot [ QUOTE ] The only good part about the whole thing is no one saw it happen but me.. . [/ QUOTE ] That statement right there brought back an idiotic moment for me swampy..LOL If this don't make you laugh, then...well...your an idiot...LOL I used to have a burn barrel out back, where I would burn, cardboard boxes, old wood, branches, leaves, etc, etc. When burning time came around (spring or fall) everything in the barrel would be quite damp and hard to light on fire and keep lit, so, I would always mix a little old gas with some old used oil that I'd save just for the occasion and use it as a fire starter and accelerator. One day I went out there and the ol' barrel was filled to the brim (as usual) and quite damp (as usual), so off to the shed I went to mix up a batch. If you put just the right amount of gas in the oil it works really good, and doesn't flare or explode when lit. Anyway (you know what's coming ), I mixed up a batch of starter and gave the ol' burn barrel a couple of ample squirts of the stuff. Stood back, decided it was really, really damp in there and gave her a few more squirts. I then backed up a bit (being the "better safe than sorry" guy that I am) lit a match and tossed it in. BAAwwWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFF-fizzle, fizzle, fizzle The whole contents of the burn barrel (not the burn barrel itself)was launched about 20 ft in the air. The yard was full of smoking refuse....LMBO Now the funny part The first thing I did...was look around at the neighbours houses, to see if anyone had seen me .....LOL The second thing I did was glance over at my kitchen window to make sure my wife wasn't standing there with a frown on her face and her arms crossed..LOL So you see..I am an idiot too. VermontHunter
Re: Ever do this?? Man Ken that's no good... atleast you didn't do the reflex thing and try to save it from the fall,, that would have been very bad.... Glad no one was hurt,,,, (just a little pride.. ) LOL...Man-O-Man Steve and his home made concoctions.... ,, I can just picture him doing quick 360's looking to see if anyone had caught the action....
