EKYhunter
Re: Mechanical Broadheads My friend killed a doe with Spitfires this year. He got complete penetration through each side of the rib cage. It broke through those bones extremely well.
snapper
Re: Mechanical Broadheads I found that shooting fixed heads had alot to do with the arrow and broadhead combination. Alot of folks think its the bow set-up when in fact they need to spin test every arrow and broadhead to find which ones spin true. I can take a field tip out...screw on a thunderhead (spin test it) and if it spins true...it WILL hit exactly where my field tip hit. No lining up fletching etc... I shoot Thunderheads and Rock mt. snypers...both perform well and both fly the same. Broadheads aren't designed to pentrate bone...they are made to cut tissue. If you hit a bone, your taking a chance no matter what broadhead you are using.
mitrrophybowhunter
Re: Mechanical Broadheads [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] spitfires are awesome [/ QUOTE ] accept they wont penatrate bone at all [/ QUOTE ] Please tell me what you mean by this? Spitfires will go through ribs! Please don't think you can pass an arrow through a shoulder bone!
