I would like to see some shows where guys actually go hunt public land, and kill book-sized animals every year....anyone can use an outfitter and kill a nice deer...... huntinsonovagun
Re: Best hunter ever? The Wenzel brothers have to be close to the top.... I can't believe all of the celebrity hunters being mentioned. Sure, I like watching Waddell, Jordan, and Nugent on TV just as much, or more, as anyone, but I think I can shoot a bow as well as any of them....finding the game to shoot is what's tough....unless you pay for a trip (or have it paid for you....) unioncountyslayer
Re: Best hunter ever? Huntinsonovagun, I couldn't agree more. Where's the respect for Fred Bear! Hands down the greatest hunter ever, and a great conservationist.
Nut
Re: Best hunter ever? None of the above gets my vote(sorry vt ) Killing lots of game or being on TV does not make anyone the best hunter ever. None of us will truly ever know who the best hunter ever actually is. It was someone way back who hunted because they depended on the meat for their food. Protein was needed and they provided. It was not for fame or money it was for survival. So I think for at least North America it was a Native American Indian or Eskimo. BUt if itis for modern times the best hunters are only just starting. MY 3 sons get my vote for the future. Guest Andrea
Re: Best hunter ever? Gotta agree with Nut here. While all of these guys are talented in some aspect or another.....you can't really label one as the BEST. They all seem to know their stuff and I enjoy watching and listening to MOST of them. But as great as Tred Barta THINKS he is.........he would never compare to the Native American Indian. Besides, anyone who degrades another hunter for using guns and GPS, and scents and decoys......is not worthy of my vote...EVER.

AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Best hunter ever? [ QUOTE ] Chuck adams never found an animal for himself in his life. His brother is twice the hunter he is. Chuck is a good "shooter" As for Bill J, anyone can sit in a well placed treestand and shoot a big buck that walks by, just takes $$$ I vote for Tred Barta, dude is hard core. Will primos is also a stud. Andy [/ QUOTE ] Wow!! Can't beleive the Adams and Jordan slam, not sure where you got your Adams information but I think he has made a huge impact on the industry as well as Jordan. To me Adams is a great hunter and I think your comments on him are unjust, where are your facts? As for Mr. Jordan, he sacrificed alot to get where he is today, I for one am not going to slam him for his efforts, if it wasn't for him we wouldn't be on this forum talking about hunting, his company revolutionized the industry! Hillbilly
Re: Best hunter ever? I consider everyone here a great hunter, yeah we all make mistakes, and thats what's seperates us from the wanna-bes. It's like what my daddy and Ma always said. Boys turn to Men through lessons they learn. Mother says- Girls turn into women through the lesssons they learn. I think this can also go with hunters. Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Best hunter ever? Good point HG, but even today there are still some Indians (sorry, I'm not PC) that can hunt the socks off of me and most everyone else on these forums. Just try keeping up with one of those long legged Navajo or Ute boys while they're running up and down the mountains of western New Mexico, Arizona, or Utah chasing those big mule deer. Newarcher
Re: Best hunter ever? Me Let's see these outfitter hunters come on my land and figure it all out for themselves. Some could.....some would probably get lost and have to call me to come get 'um. And for those who said Tom Miranda......was that comedy? They just invented a Tom Miranda signature series block target.....it is called the 'broadside'. As in broadside of the barn....as in can't hit it. The target is 16 feet wide by 8 feet tall. They said that it took 23 takes for Tom to hit it for the commercial! New
