Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Quitting smoking. healthy or not? Yeah, got that food tasting better so you're eating more and the nicotine is leaving the old system so you're metabolism is slowing down too. But it's definitely worth it. You can control your weight with diet and exercise.
JimT
Re: Quitting smoking. healthy or not? 150 is pretty skinny. I weigh about 208, and would not want to weight much less. Try turning some of that into a little muscle and run with it. Being chubby is better than smoking any day.
Jeramie
Re: Quitting smoking. healthy or not? Wow, I weight 196.6 and I havent smoked in years and years. Maybe I should start up again. Its a far better trade. Keep an eye on your numbers and watch what you eat. You can regulate your health with food. Cancer sticks are just there to destroy. VtBowhunter
Re: Quitting smoking. healthy or not? Chris, I also quit about 2 months ago, but I don't know that I gained any more then a few pounds. Look on the bright side......with hunting season in affect you can wander around and walk the weight away.
whitetailkiller
Re: Quitting smoking. healthy or not? i've been smoke free for a year now and went from 163 pounds to 185 pounds in the first 4 months and am now getting used to weighing a little more than usual!!!!! better than being addicted to something that would shorten my time with my kids!!!! JJL
Re: Quitting smoking. healthy or not? If you've been 2 months without.......you got this thing beat............ keep it going. It's a matter of seconds at times but, eventually they turn to hours and then to days.............you have my respect. As far as the weight thing goes.................. just remember......"there's more of you to Love"...........that what my wife says anyways...... Turkeygirl
Re: Quitting smoking. healthy or not? It is healthier to quit, especially in the long run! Keep at it Horst! My mom quit smoking and yeah she gained a few more pounds, but she could taste and smell better. Smoking really does more harm than good. stevebeilgard
Re: Quitting smoking. healthy or not? a few extra pounds far outweighs (punny?) the cancer you'll get if you smoke.
VtBowhunter
Re: Quitting smoking. healthy or not? Chris, have you gotten to the point where the smell of them makes you sick? My buddy came over last night and I thought I was going to puke when he walked in........The smell, now starts to trigger migraines if I'm near them too much. horst
Re: Quitting smoking. healthy or not? Vt , they dont make me sick but i can definately tell even when someone else is near them.My sense of smell must have started working again My wife came home from her moms the other night and stunk of smoke, i never noticed it before. She dont smoke either it was all second hand. you guys that havent quit I gotta admitt, it was other health problems that got me to quit, i got bronchitis and couldnt get rid of it with the antibiotics and this crap with my stomach was going then as well.Plus i had some muscle damage from an electrical shock going on all at the same time. I quit smoking and almost immediately the bronchitis was gone, I mean it was within just a couple days of when i quit.My muscles in my back anbd ribs actually seemed to heal faster to.But I wouldnt have tried quitting if I hadnt gotten so sick to the point I couldntt hardly get off the couch
