I watched her move in from 70 yards and she gave me a perfect broadside shot 20 yards away so i said what the heck i need to fill the freezer then i took her she did not give up a fight at all. I didn't even go out at all today, and probably won't tomorrow considering the wind is supposed to howl. I am really looking forward to this coming week and weekend as it looks as though a cold snap will be coming. Should put them in full rut, or I hope. Good luck the rest of the season. Someone beat me to my good spot this afternoon so i had to hunt a backup woods and all i saw was 1 doe out in a beanfield. Not sure if im going tomorrow or not, 40mph wind gusts are forecasted. About 8 oclock nice 8 pointer walked under my stand, I took him. A few minutes later my son pulled the trigger on a 9 pointer. Season basicially over in 2 hours. The wind was insane and the deer seemed really jumpy because of it. Mailboxes were blown over here from the crazy wind. I did see alot of does and passed on some young bucks. Nothing worth shooting on a opening weekend. Hopefully the wind dies down this week. I will get back to it Friday. Good luck Indiana hunters. She only went about 30 yards. Passed on the same 5x3 buck about 5 times later that morning. At one point he bedded only 10 feet from my stand.
