I hate to hear that this is what became of the fella. At least you were able to find him and didn't have to question the rest of the season whether or not someone else had got him. I would say you should definately have a shoulder mount done. The amount of time you put into this deer and all.... plus the fact that he's a monster..... is plenty reason enough to have him mounted. Again, sorry to hear about this.... but there will be other big boys to come along for ya as there have been in previous years! Good luck with the rest of your season. After reading your comments I took the rack to the taxidermist today and decided to have a full shoulder mount done. My taxidermist already had a good cape that I could use so I should have him back in early Feburuary. At least I will get to see him everyday now and remember him for what he was! You have worked hard in trying to kill him fair chase. It is a great tribute to the animal and a reward for your efforts to have him on your wall. You made the right decision.
