So I went out Sat morning and sat til about 9:30 saw nothing. I decided to move 1 of my stands and when I got to it it was GONE! I had 5 skyhook treesteps at the bottom and the rest were screw in. they took the stand and screw in steps. There is nothing worse than thieves and poachers. So now i decided to use a climber. which climber should i buy, i am looking at the loggy bayou which looks pretty good.

Re: Scumb bag strikes again!

thats really bad that someone stole your stand . i hope you catch who took it. you should have some idea who it might be if you know your neighbors pretty good. i always like to know whos hunting next to me or near me just for that reason..

did you have a chain and lock on it ?

i am also going to a climber to make myself more mobile . i have been looking at the ones from Summit.. a friend of mine has 1 and he loves them .

Shoot Strong

I had mine stolen this year too. I guess I was in denial that other hunters would steal my stand, but now I know better and have started locking them.

Re: Scumb bag strikes again!

I have been using a summit broadhead backpacker for the past few years. I love it. notthe lightest thing to pack into the woods, but very comfortable. due to a knee injury, I have been using hang on stands this year. They are a lot more convienent, but everytime I go out, I'm wondering if they will still be there.

I have to say this. I know that there are people on here that do this kind of stuff. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!!! HOW LOW CAN YOU GET AS TO STEAL SOMEBODY'S TREESTAND!!! I MEAN HONESTLY YOU IMMATURE PEOPLE PUT A BAD MARK ON US TRUE HUNTERS. WE LOVE WHAT WE DO AND ITS PEOPLE THAT STEAL TREESTANDS AND POACH THAT GIVE A BAD NAME TO EITHICAL HUNTERS...

that really sucks, i don't use climbers so i can't offer any advice...

Re: Scum bag strikes again!

That bites for sure. We've had 7 stands get lifted over the years. Locks, chains and lag bolts, don't seem to deter thieves. If they want it bad enough, they just go home, get the tools they need and do their dirty deed.

I'd just like to catch one stealing my stuff.

We haven't hung any stands for the last 2 seasons, just because of idiot thieves and poachers.

i love my summit, but my uncle has the loggy lite and a climbing aid. i really love that stand...if your a serious bow hunter i would go for it because unlike my viper it doesnt have the bar in your way so you can shoot while seated!

Re: Scumb bag strikes again!

I had a stand stolen last year as well and was devastated. I had just bought it and I still don't know if it was the game warden or thieves. I look at them the same when it comes to taking stands.

As far as climbers go...I researched for 2 yrs before I finally bought the API Grand Slam SuperStar. This stand has everything and only weighs 18 lbs. This stand has a swing away sitting bar, a footrest/gun rest, large cushioned sling seat which is adjustable, chain style strap, sharp dig in teeth and a large platform for standing shots. Not to mention how quiet, compact and comfortable this thing is. The full body harness is the one I still use no matter what. I feel totally confident using this stand at heights of 30 feet or more and I weigh 400 lbs. The price ain't bad either. Good luck and happy hunting.
