Guest Gwv Posted November 13, 2005 Report Share Posted November 13, 2005 The season couldn't of started of worse or so I thought.I have been scouting a place for the last month while bowhunting and knew that my son would have no problem getting that first deer.Two nights before season opens the landowner calls me and says that he wants to try and catch someone that set up a tree stand and cut down some trees on his place and that he would rather me not be there this weekend.I was in the middle of building a stand for that area when he called.I was devastated but thought just go and set up on some other land of my buddies.I had never hunted that field before and decided set up and see what happens.At 7:00 this guy came running in with his nose to the air trying to figure out where the doe pee smell was coming from.After two years of failed youth hunts my son took his first deer during his first regular season hunt.I think that I was more excited then he was about it.It is a 7 pt. When we took him to the processors,the conservation department was there ageing deer.They said that he was 1 1/2 year old.Not to shabby of a rack for one that young.
