johnf
I saw a Mossberg bolt action 270 at Wal-Mart the other day for $248. Does anyone know anything about Mossberg riffles. I've got an NEF Ultra rifle in 25-06 that I wouldn't mind giving up for the 270. I think I could get around $300 for it. 25-06 shells are hard to come by here and I'd rather have the 270. The gun looked pretty good, but I just didn't know how Mossberg riffles performed.

AJ
Re: Mossberg 270? Mossberg used to import the Howa 1500 but now has a new bolt action rifle that Wal Mart is selling. It's not listed on their website. I looked at the gun and it has the standard el cheapo synthetic stock. The action looks a lot like the Savage. It has a removable bolt face and there is a collar where the Savage's barrel nut is. The safety is not like Savage's though. I don't know who actually makes the gun. David_218
Re: Mossberg 270? I've never owned a Mossberg Rifle, but I've never heard anything bad against them. Just get a good quality scope and mounts to go along with it and you should be fine
