texastrophies
Breaking News: Busch Out for Year -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pete Pistone Managing Editor Posted Sunday, November 13, 2005 AVONDALE, Az. - Kurt Busch has been suspended by Roush Racing for the remainder of the NEXTEL Cup Series season in response to his police altercation in Phoenix over the weekend. Kenny Wallace will pilot the Roush Racing No. 97 Ford in Sunday's Checker Auto Parts 500 at Phoenix International Raceway. Roush Craftsman Truck Series driver Todd Kluever is expected to pilot the car in the season-ending Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The action is a result of Friday night's incident involving Busch and Maricopa County police. Busch was cited for reckless driving after being stopped by law enforcement officers who clocked him driving 60 mph in a 45 mph zone. Although it was flatly denied by Busch, alcohol is believed to be involved in the situation.
Yellowhammer
Re: Busch out for the year I wonder if Busch was drinking Miller Lite, since that will be his sponsor next year. To bad Nascar isn't kicking him out of the sport all together.
tedicast
Re: Busch out for the year Does he deserve to be sat for the 2 races??...Yes, I think he does. but, you have to wonder if old J.R. would have sat him if he was still going to be driving the 97 next year. You know J.R. wouldn't have sat Mark Martin, or Carl Edwards if they did something stupid like that. I think it's Jacks final "screw you" to Kurt Busch As far as Nascar doing anything. I don't see how they could. A couple years ago Scott Wimmer wrecked a Bill Davis company truck, drunk, and left the scene of the accident. He got arrested for D.U.I, leaving the scene of an accident, and I believe resisting arrest because he hid in his house from the cops. His wife also got charged for telling the police he wasn't home. He didn't miss any races, for much more serious charges.

slugshooter
Re: Busch out for the year Look at it this way, at least now, Jeremy Mayfield , as long as he doesn't blow up on the first lap next week, is virtually assured of not finishing dead last 2 years in a row in the chase.
