SRTMO
I would like to get a 30 foot ladder stand but, I can't find any. Does anyone know where I can find one? I am thinking I may need to bye the stand I want and have 10 foot of ladder fabricated and another stabilizer bar. I know lots of companies make 20 foot climbing sticks but, does anyone make a 30 foot? Who has combined 2 packs to get to 30 foot and is it safe? wtnhunt
Re: 30 Foot Ladder Stand or Climbing Sticks Just dont think a 30 ft ladder stand could be built that would be safe that could be put up, not unless it was really heavy, and that would likely require the use of some sort of machinery to put it up. Have seen climbing sticks sold in sets that go 15 ft, just buy two. Think you would be best off to use sticks or a climber.
SRTMO
Re: 30 Foot Ladder Stand or Climbing Sticks I have been considering a hang on stand with climbing sticks very seriously. I want the API Grandstand Super Baby Grand Treestand. It has a large platforn and safety rail but, I've never used a hang on. I do not leave my stands in the tree when I am not there so, is a stand like this easy enough to set up and take down each time? For climbing sticks, I would get 2 packs of Summit Bucksteps. This would get me to 30 feet with no problem.
wtnhunt
Re: 30 Foot Ladder Stand or Climbing Sticks Dont know how heavy that stand is to carry in. Bet between that and the steps, you will have your hands full trying to get into the woods and setup prior to each hunt.
AaronS
Re: 30 Foot Ladder Stand or Climbing Sticks William is right, you'd need to pack all that in on a game cart because of the weight. Is a climber an option where you hunt or are the trees too limby? Less weight to pack in and you can hunt at whatever height you choose. SRTMO
Re: 30 Foot Ladder Stand or Climbing Sticks Well, I use a climber right now. I have used climbers for 15 years. I was hoping to get a hang on because of the bigger foot platform. The largest foot platform on a climber I have seen is from Summit. hutchies
Re: 30 Foot Ladder Stand or Climbing Sticks What the heck do you need to be up there 30 feet for? If you are archery hunting that will put you at quite a steep angle. For rifle it would be ok.
gitcha_some
Re: 30 Foot Ladder Stand or Climbing Sticks carrying in, and taking down a hang on stand every time your out just defats the whole purpose of it...stick with the climbers if those are you intentions
SRTMO
Re: 30 Foot Ladder Stand or Climbing Sticks I always go up to atleast 30 feet. I can see more and they see me less, hopefully anyway.

Guest Finn
Re: 30 Foot Ladder Stand or Climbing Sticks I'd go with sticks of some kind. 30 feet on a ladder would be a tough thing to accomplish.
beagleboy
Re: 30 Foot Ladder Stand or Climbing Sticks We used to have a 25ft tree stand overlooking a large cornfield. Since all the stands had names for them so everyone knew what stand everyone was using like "the swamp stand" or "the knoll" or "the cutover". Our name for the 25ft stand was called "Suicide"

SRTMO
Re: 30 Foot Ladder Stand or Climbing Sticks I guess I'll just stick with my Cabela's Trophy Cable Elite. It has a bigger platform than any Summit and only weighs a pound more. This is what mine looks like but, it's aluminum and is 22 lbs compaired this stainless steels 32 lbs. 3 years ago I think I paid around $200 for it too. I think I may bye a Summit seat to replace mine with. Their's is much nicer seat. I may get those stirrups and side bags too. Then I'll have a half a Summit. My current stand has always been a comfortable and secure stand that isn't too heavy and easily packable. I guess I'll stick with her and just give her some upgrades. Thanks everyone. Two StrongBuilt 15'ers would be even cheaper, maybe around $100.
SRTMO
Re: 30 Foot Ladder Stand or Climbing Sticks I saw that they offered those and it did peak my interest a bit. I kind of like the Summit model because it has more room to place my boats, um, feet when climbing. I'm just gonna upgrade my climber a bit and use that. It'll be cheaper and more portable. BOSTONTOM
i HAVE TWO OPTIONS FOR THE CADDILAC BUY THE MILLUNIUM L110 -21 FOOT STAND AND AN EXTRA MIDDLE SECTION.
