Had some fun with the .22 on the weekend.

On saturday I felt like doing a little plinking with the .22, its a little Browning BL .22 LR with a 3-7x Bushnell scope on it. I set the lawn tractor out 20yds from the target so I'd have something to lean on when checking to see if the scope was on. I fired 2 rounds and went and looked, it was shooting about 3 inches low. So I dialed the scope up until I had it deadly. wink.gif Now it can literally drive nails. grin.gif I shot all the nails out of the box that I had the target on and shot some caps off pop bottles. I stuck an empty .22 shell in one of the holes in the target and even hit that! I can't wait for fox hunting with this little thing, it sure is on the ball now! grin.gifcool.gif

Re: Had some fun with the .22 on the weekend.

I tried two different kinds of ammo. We buy them by the brick (525 rounds in most cases) I finished off the box of Wincheser Super-X, that's what I sighted in with. I was managing 1/8-1/4" groups at 20 yards. Then that box was history so I tried out the Federals. They seemed a fair bit louder than the Winchesters, so I figured they'd be shooting slightly higher. Nope, it was still dead on! cool.gif While I was shooting I heard a squirrel chirping up in a tree, I spotted him up near the top of probably a 100 foot pine tree. I looked through the scope and he was looking down at me, well, needless to say the last thing he saw before his 90 foot trip to the ground was a 36gr Hollowpoint right between the eyes. tongue.gifgrin.gif
