As I sit here thinking back on today all I can say is what a rush !!!

weather was real windy but it being last day I could bow hunt I had to be in the woods been real sick but been pushing myself to go .

Yesturday I had a little 8 follow my drag rag right down the trail I pulled back but decided to hold off let him walk.. well all last night I was thinking I should have takin him.

After today its a good thing I didnt about 2:30 ish I headed out to a buddy of mines land its a smaller woods conected up with the marsh and has 2 smaller fields they dont plant no more.

last 2 days been using a drag rag walking diagonal across the field down and hooks back up the edge past my stand. around 3:45 2 does were out eating in the field then walked off to the woods behind me . so I continued to watch the field .nuthin movin wind gustin little bit of rain almost was going to pack up .

then it cleared up and got alittle calmer So I'm scanning the field and there he is sniffin the ground about 70 yards out . He then starts looking around into the marsh so I decided to grunt twice then gave him the snort weeze and just like people have told me he looked my way pinned his ears back and headed my way at this point the shakes and my heart are in my throut .

He continued right down the trail till he was about 30 yards started looking around . I gave him one soft grunt facing my tube behind me . he looked right away and started walking very slow he seemed alittle spooked by something the wind was changing driections maybe he scented me but he continued towards my shooting lane there some thick brush I use to pull back with out gettin busted . I drew back my bow shakin like a leaf waited it seemed for ever then he steps in my shooting lane .

I was going to make a noise to stop him but something spooked him from across the woods he looked over givin me a 20 yard broadside/quarty away shot . I let it rip the muzzy entered 4 inches back from shoulder blade and came out the arm pit on his front leg he lunged forward almost going down the arrow snapped about 7 inches was still in him . he tried to run made it about 30 yards and was weavin and bobbin thought he was going to go down but he tried to keep going made it about 15 more yards and crashed !!!!!! at this point Im shakin and so worked up I almost fell out the tree..

what happened today I really needed a crappy guided huntlast sat,a week a bad weather in missuri, and been hunting hard everyday sicker then a dog it just goes to show never give up and it will pay off sooner or later smile.gif
