Guest ILBIGBUCKS
I have a cva optima pro and i cant get that thing to shoot worth a darn. It is just throwing bullets everywhere and will not stay consistant. Any suggestions?
stick
Re: Gun won\'t pattern My optima pro did the same thing until I started using 250 grain shockwave with three 777 pellets. Also I never could get a group while the gun was clean. Before I shot at the range I would put 1 50 grain pellet in the gun and pack enough tp overit to hold it in place, and fire it to dirty the barrel. Then it would always Shoot 1inch groups at 100yds. I also use the remington cleanshot 209 primers.
AJ
Re: Gun won\'t pattern Swab between shots. Try a different powder weight up and/or down. Try a different bullet. I tried a few things in my Knight Disc Elite and finally found something it shoots half decently. I went through 6 different bullets until I found one it likes. Guest tyshe17
Re: Gun won\'t pattern what load and bullet are you using...I would mix it up and come up with a specific pattern for cleaning your gun
brad dryden
Re: Gun won\'t pattern If you clean between every shot it will make a big diffrence when grouping.
too_pointer
Re: Gun won\'t pattern They are right. It make take sometime to find the right combo for your gun. Different primers, lose or pellet powder, bullets, and cleaning methods. good luck too_

magnatecsteve
Re: Gun won\'t pattern The only thing with patterning with a dirty barrel,....are you going to leave it dirty when you load up for a hunt?
wtnhunt
Re: Gun won\'t pattern Have you ever looked at the link at the top of this forum? Some great info in there from bluelk. Work up some different loads, see what gives the best grouping.
njbowhntr
Re: Gun won\'t pattern I shoot a CVA Optima Pro also. I shoot 2-50gr Triple 7 behind a Powerbelt 295gr Hollowpoint. I can shoot 1" at 100 yards consistant, but only on a dirty barrel. When I clean the barrel, who knows what I am going to hit. So after a good day at that range I give it a good cleaning then shoot it one more time. Then leave it like that for the hunt. It is a bit harder to clean after the season, but it is the only way that it will pattern.
