Guest DrewG
Re: muzzleloader won\'t pattern Try shooting a different type of powder.. i have had great luck with tripple 7. Also try shooting the lose powder instead of the pellets to see what load your gun seems to like the best. Another thing worth trying is stepping the bullet down to a 245gr. aero tip. I have had great luck with that combination.
double_drop
Re: muzzleloader won\'t pattern I would try different type of powder as well. I use pyrodex pellets and 245 grain aerotip powerbelts and they pattern excellent. 3 inch grouping in 100 yards.
AJ
Re: muzzleloader won\'t pattern Try different bullets. I have shot Powerbelts in 4 different guns and they have not performed acceptable in any of them. My standards are at worst 2" groups at 100 yards. I prefer 1" groups at 100 yards. ousoonerfan22
Re: muzzleloader won\'t pattern My son's optima didn't shoot that well with the 295 gr. powerbelts and (2)50 gr. triple 7 pellets. It shot a little tighter groups with the TC shockwave 240 or 250 gr. with the (2)triple 7 pellets. 13littleones
Re: muzzleloader won\'t pattern I have found the only method that worded for me.. For the most part you only get 1 shot with a muzzleloader.... Shoot it... then clean it... shoot it again... clean it...Im talking about after every shot..... shoot it and clean it again and start moving your sights.... If that dont work...... buy some new bullets or powder.... the trick is to have the barrell clean.... works for me anyways.......

njbowhntr
Re: muzzleloader won\'t pattern I shoot a CVA Optima Pro also. I shoot 2-50gr Triple 7 behind a Powerbelt 295gr Hollowpoint. I can shoot 1" at 100 yards consistant, but only on a dirty barrel. When I clean the barrel, who knows what I am going to hit. So after a good day at that range I give it a good cleaning then shoot it one more time. Then leave it like that for the hunt. It is a bit harder to clean after the season, but it is the only way that it will pattern.
Guest DaveGP
Re: muzzleloader won\'t pattern try the aero tip pb bullets.. i used the hollowpoints and they wouldnt even hit paper and i switched to the aero tip and i made the bullseye look like mickey mouse.... 2 ears and shot out the middle lol. im easy to entertain! dave
ScottyLuck
Re: muzzleloader won\'t pattern Part of shooting a ML is experimenting with different bullets, powder and powder charges. Before changing bullets try different charges with what you have. If that doesn't work start experimenting.
Guest gastj
Re: muzzleloader won\'t pattern I agree w/ 13littleones, plus I would recommend a loose grain powder over pellets that way you can mess around in small grain increments.
