ZooBear
This started out as a simple complaint about check designs by Mr Claspell. I sent off another email to Angelee, stating that I was aware that US Bank used a vendor for their checks and that they could refuse to offer the HSUS design, while still offering an affordable check selection for their customers. I asked that US Bank consider dropping the HSUS design because it is offensive to sportsmen and women. Here’s what I received back: Dear Mr. Claspell, Thank you for the additional information. Your email and suggestions will be forwarded as feedback on the check styles we currently offer. There are not any current plans to change the styles offered, however, your feedback will be considered in any future changes. Sincerely, Tisha Wynne - Lechuga U.S. Bank® Internet Banking I emailed Tisha, this time, and again pointed out the question, asking if US Bank was a direct supporter of HSUS, PETA, or any of the other animal right’s organization. Finally, I received this: Dear Mr. Claspell, Thank you for your patience. I have confirmed that U.S. Bancorp does support the Humane Society directly. If you have further questions we would ask that you contact Alesha Simmons in our Public Relations area directly. She can be reached at 612-303-0737. Thank you. Sincerely, Tisha Wynne – Lechuga Now I need a new bank!
clayman
Re: US BANK SUPPORTS HSUS Thanks for that info, ZooBear. I've got a USBank account that I'm going to have to seriously think about closing. I'd like to know more about their support of "The Humane Society" before I take any action, but I'm pretty sure I know where this account is going to end up. I've been thinking of changing banks anyway, and this is just the reason I need to finally do it.

popgun
Re: US BANK SUPPORTS HSUS I hope that you understand that, “The Humane Society” is not the same as the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). Your local Humane Society takes in abandoned dogs and cats, and other domesticated critters, and cares for them until they can be adopted. The HSUS does not fund, nor help these local shelters in any way. The local Humane Society Shelters do not get any funding, nor help from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) either. PETA, HSUS, ALF, and ELF would rather free animals than give them homes. They would rather blow up a building that is housing animals, than give those animals a home. They would rather give money to help in the defense of a terrorist bomber than to help animals. Every pet I have had in the last 40 years has come from a local animal shelter. I will gladly donate bags of dog food and pet supplies to my local animal shelter. The local animal shelter is not associated with HSUS, PETA, ALF, or ELF. Please do not confuse your local Humane Society or Animal Shelter with these terrorist groups. As for the checks…. My local bank also uses a check printing service to print out their customer’s checks, and offers a very wide selection. Some of these selections could be offensive to some customers, but not to others. Some examples: The Confederate Flag designs, could be offensive to those who perceive it as a symbol of man’s inhumanity to man, rather than as a historical flag. The Motorcycle designs could be offensive to someone whose family member or loved one was killed on one. The Lion King designs could be offensive to several of the local religious groups that do not believe in giving human characteristics to animal creatures. The Hunting designs could be offensive to those non, or anti hunters. The Floral designs may be offensive to allergy sufferers. The Religious designs could be offensive to those who do not believe. And the PETA, HSUS, ALF, ELF designs could be offensive to hunters and those who do not believe in their cause. The bank here has to offer 190 designs to choose from, so there is no need to pick a design you don’t like. If you were in business, would you refuse to accept a credit card, because it has the HSUS logo on it, and you know that 1% of the sale will go to that organization? How about the gun control freaks that run a business and accept our credit cards with the NRA, NWTF, DU, etc. logos on them? They also know that 1% goes to that organization. You all do what you like, but I personally think there are more important things in life, than arguing with a bank over the design of their personal checks, or moving to a different bank with similar policies. If you have taken the time to read this; you are already one step closer to developing a trait that is almost lost. (Patience) Just my opinion, and meaning no offense to anyone… ….popgun
hutchies
Re: US BANK SUPPORTS HSUS I have to agree with popgun on this one. Our local bank will let your order specialized checks from their list but they tried to tell me I could not order them from another company that prints checks. Well I ordered and started using them without telling them and have never had a problem. Find another company that prints checks and put your money there. VtBowhunter
Re: US BANK SUPPORTS HSUS I'll third Popgun on this one. Make sure your bank isn't thinking that you meant your local Humaine Society.
ZooBear
Re: US BANK SUPPORTS HSUS I know that this started out as a problem with the checks, that really doesnt bother me. But it does bother me when they were directly asked if they were a "direct supporter" of peta or hsus and they admitted they were.
popgun
Re: US BANK SUPPORTS HSUS "I emailed Tisha, this time, and again pointed out the question, asking if US Bank was a direct supporter of HSUS, PETA, or any of the other animal right’s organization. " I still think that your direct question was misunderstood by the people at USBancorp. This is one of the biggest problems with The Humane Society. They are too often confused with HSUS. In her answer, she did not say they give directly to HSUS or PETA, but instead she said directly to The Humane Society. Even though you had asked her about HSUS and PETA. After doing an extensive search on the Internet on USBancorp, I find nothing on them giving any money or support to HSUS. They have, however given much to The Humane Society in various states. It sure peaks my curiosity. ....popgun
