No donuts involved this time though. I was on my way to pick up lunch and was cruising down a main road in town, just approaching the Ace Hardware store when the car in front of me jams on brakes. A big doe ran out in front of the car with a fawn trailing behind trying its best to catch up with mom who was rapidly putting distance between herself and her baby. Ran across 4 lanes of traffic, past the drivers licensing place and into a small patch of woods. Gotta love WI during the rut! So long as no dents end up in my SUV! Did watch a doe watching traffic while at work last week. Pretty smart old doe, she turned and ran back across the field behind a house. Yeah its that time of year when we have to watch the side of the road,,, saw what looked to be either a 4 or 6 point laying on the side of the road last night on the way home from the fire house.......
