beagleboy
I used to shoot Copper solids out of my 11-87. It has a rifled barrel. They used to give me a great pattern until they changed the design of the sabot. I was very dissatified with the pattern and decided to shoot the hydrid sabots after someone recommended them. Has anyone shot this sabot before and are you happy with the results.

Guest cowpoke
Re: Lightfield Hybrid Sabots My 870 really likes them and it also likes Winchester silver box with the bri sabot. Both will consistently shoot 2 inch groups at 50 yards with open sights
Tominator
Re: Lightfield Hybrid Sabots I've shot them before, and they patterned real good out of my 870. Problem with them, at the time, was that they only made them in the 2 3/4" shell. I'm sure they have a magnum version by now. They are a good shell IMHO. tedicast
Re: Lightfield Hybrid Sabots I shoot them in my Encore. My Encore prefers them over any other slug I fed it. I only shoot 2 3/4. I honestly can't justify the 3". My shots are all well under 100 yards, and anything you hit in the vitals with a 2 3/4" is gonna be just as dead as if it was hit with a 3". I don't think the extra recoil is worth it.
beagleboy
Re: Lightfield Hybrid Sabots Well I got to try the sabots today and I was very impressed with the grouping I got. At fifty yds three out of five slugs were touching. Two inches high at 50 yds and I was dead-on center at 100yds. I will be very confident come Satuday, our gun opener. Thanks everyone for your opinions.
