Jeramie
The wife and I worked all weekend. Saturday we went to pic up material. While we were out we picked up more feed for the horses. They were running low. We have a tom cat that shows up every once and a while. He is black with white feet and a white tail. We named him boots. I stepped into the barn and turned on the lights. I caught a glimpse of black behind the table saw and I told the wife, " There's Boots. We better feed him." I turned on the rest of the lights and sidestepped to look at him.... Nope, not boots, pole cat... "RUN." As I was making my get away I saw another. Yep, two pole cats have taken up residence in my barn. My barn is probably 100 years old. A small portion of it has a wood floor still. They slipped under the wood. They are breeding right now and Im afraid im about to have some baby stinkers running around! I have got to get them out of there. If I could get them into the open field I would introduce them to my .22 but it ain't happenin in the barn. What to do, what to do? Palssonater
Re: Ahhh, great..... SMOKE! Antifreeze is great but everything will get their hands on it. If you have dogs and cats you want around I would suggest using smoke. This will take some building, but all you need basically is a barrel, fan and some flax bales. Use dryer venting if you wanna keep the fire outside and pipe it(smoke) under your floor boards..... Or if you have a big enough fan, use two lengths of dryer hose and use negative displacement....which basically is sucking the smoke into the barn. be careful about what will get smoke damage though. If you don't want the hay getting smokey. Stand guard with some BB shot and rough em up when they come out.

puffy
Re: Ahhh, great..... You can run water into the hole through a down spout like on the eavestrough and mix a bit of javex bleach in with it. I've done this to ground hogs as akid and skunks as a teenager, and boy do they move out quick. You can blast-em on the run and it cleans your barn as well. ................................HUNT SMART-EAT WELL
wtnhunt
Re: Ahhh, great..... Good luck getting them out of there Jeramie. Think the moth balls might work without hurting your other animals, but not sure.
