Guest wildotter
I did a search to see what some opinions were on fixed position and ladder stands, but didn't find much except for a thread regarding climbing stands. My father-in-law is wanting a good safety harness for his birthday, but instead of just buying him one, I've decided to get him either a fixed position or ladder stand (both of which will come with a good harness). I figure I'm getting more for my money that way, and he is always in the market for a new stand. Anyway, hit me with some of your recommendations for both types of stands...preferably something under $150. I was looking at the Baby Gorilla but can't find them at Bass Pro anymore...I figured I could get a 2 or 3 of them for the price of one expensive stand. (I have 2 of them already and I know they are pretty comfortable.) Thanks in advance for the input.
BowJoe
Re: Treestand Recommendations??? Try the stands by Hunter's View or River's Edge. They are some good ladder stands and for about $100 you have $50 left over for a Seat O The Pants safety harness and retractable cable. Pretty good in my books. wtnhunt
Re: Treestand Recommendations??? Might check out wal mart. They have a few different stands I think by hunters view at the store here, and they are priced pretty cheap.
Guest mnarcher
Re: Treestand Recommendations??? The Cabela's ladder stand for $70 is a great stand for the money. The only bad thing is they are heavy.
RangerClay
Re: Treestand Recommendations??? I like ladder stands. I make them myself with 2x4's. Much sturdier and cheaper than the commercial stands. Plus I can make the platform as big as I need. Ranger
