I hate teeth

Yep, as you may know, seeing me post mid week usually means something's wrong. We'll just say I'm lucky that my route has me within 10 miles of home every other day. I woke up this morning with a piercing pain shooting down the left side of my neck and into my left eye as well as the feeling of a golf ball between my left cheek and jaw. As fun as that may sound, trust me, it isn't.

Being the company man I am, I went ahead and made delivery on-time, then I called my dispatcher and told him he needs to put another truck under my trailer because I was going home.

I admit, I've kinda let my teeth slide in recent years due to lack of funds/insurance. Well, they decided it was high time I started paying them some attention when late last week I chipped a tooth on some truck stop mashed potatoes (Don't ask me how, because I don't know).

Fast foward 4 hours, I now sit here with one less tooth, nursing a mild buzz from whatever they used to make me enjoy the prying out of tooth from jaw and the draining of an abnormally large amount of infection, trying to think of as much funny things to say while sounding like Marlon Brando as possible.

All-in-all, the situation has sucked, but at least I get to say 'I'm gonna make you an offer you can't refuse' with relative conviction, so all isn't lost.

Re: I hate teeth

Been there done that Racksie. When I drove for Schneider I didn't pay enough attention to my teeth and I ended up getting a cavity, well, never had any probs until I was eating a blow-pop and bit down and when I pulled up I took a portion of the top of one of my back teeth up with it. I suffered through the pain for awhile, a year or so, usually it wasn't so bad and sometimes didn't hurt at all. I went back on the road with JB Hunt after a year or so and was in Chicago chowing down on a Gyro from a Greek place on Navy Pier, well, bit down on an onion where the tooth was and that's all she wrote, 2 days later I was in Louisville,KY seeing a Dentist on last minute notice getting that sucker pulled, I tell you what, it was hurting so bad I though I was gonna hyper-ventilate, when they shot that novacaine in my jaw, well, that was about the greatest feeling in the world. grin.gif

Re: I hate teeth

Teeth: My serious hate!

I neglected mine until one broke: Then surely found out having one fixed, and a checkup was a lot more expensive than routine maintennce! I had 6 cavities when I went in after a 5 year hiatus: Now I am back in the routine of every 6 months: I hate it, but it beats the alternative! Teeth: YUK: I about puke when you get a little kid that has a loose tooth and they play with it and swing it around :-grin)

YUK!
