RangerClay
Talked to my neighbor on the phone last night and he has one the Remington semi-auto rifles for sale. If my memory serves me correct this is the model 7400 or 740. The caliber is .243. I have not seen it yet so I cannot tell you what condition it is in. What would be the value of this gun in good condition and in great condition? Thanks Ranger
RangerClay
Re: What is this gun worth One more thing. Is there anything else about this gun that I should know about? Are these guns prone to have problems or anything? Thanks again Ranger
too_pointer
Re: What is this gun worth I have a 7400 in .270. No problems and I like it very much. I believe you can pick up a new one slightly under $500, so go from there according to condition. too_
Guest lilcrackshot
Re: What is this gun worth Great guns. I know a guy who has had one for like 20-30 years and has had absolutely no problems with it.
snapper
Re: What is this gun worth I can tell you that the Synthetic 7400 is just under $400 dealer cost. And the Monte Carlo stock is about $75 more.
Guest TCScout
Re: What is this gun worth I recommend that you be sure and determine that it is not a Model 742 - which is an earlier version of the Remington semi-auto rifle. Many, not all, but many of these guns have trouble over time and there is no fix for them. The bolt overrotates and gouges metal out of the bolt guides that are machined into the receiver. Once this happens the gun does not feed reliably.
