Guest Broncho10
Earlier this week I got a picture from my gamecam of a 135-140" 8 point during midday. I was pumped, it was the first good buck I have gotten on my camera during the daylight. I went out Wed. evening and Thurs. morning with no luck. After that I made up my mind, I figured it was getting the time of year to pull an all dayer in the stand. I figured Sat. would be perfect, light winds and mild temp. I got geared up and packed up and headed out to the stand before daylight. I got to the satnd at about 5:30 am and had trouble from thje beginning. As I was pulling my bow up the tube to my peep got hung on a limb and pulled the peep out of my string. I figured no big deal, I will just use the same anchor point and look through the string. I tried that technique on a squirrel later in the morning, turned out I would be ok within 20 yards, (Gave the little booger a scare and a shaving with an old broadhead I always carry with me for those type of situations.) So I sat there, and sat there, and sat there. Nothing!! All I saw was a coyote at 50 yards at 8:15 am. Other than a few sqirrels and birds nothing. I sat until 6:30 pm until I finally gave in and got down. The rut has started in my area and I thought for sure I would get a little action, but oh well that's hunting. That is the first time I have sat all day without seeing a single deer. Talk about a tired and worn out hunter, just sitting there without any action for 13 hours will wear on ya. I just have to clear my mind and get geared up to do it all over next weekend. Hopefully my luck will change, I figure you can't kill him if you're sitting in the house. Sorry about the long rambling post, just had to get it off my chest. This sport will definately humble you more times than not.
